History

Vocational School of Health Services was established in 1992, affiliated with Mersin University. Tarsus University was established with the "Law No. 7141 on Amendments to the Higher Education Law and Certain Laws and Decree Laws" published in the Official Gazette No. 30425 dated May 18, 2018; with this law, Vocational School of Health Services, which is under the umbrella of Mersin University, Tarsus It is affiliated with the university.

Our Vocational School of Health Services consists of five departments and six programs: the Department of Child Care and Youth Services with the Child Development Program; the Department of Management and Organization with the Health Institutions Management Program; the Department of Pharmacy Services with the Pharmacy Services Program; the Department of Health Care Services with the Elderly Care Program; and the Department of Medical Services and Techniques with the First and Emergency Aid Program and the Medical Documentation and Secretariat Program.

In the 2019–2020 academic year, the Health Institutions Management Program within the Department of Management and Organization began admitting students with three lecturers and one faculty member. After meeting the need for three academic staff members, the Child Development Program of the Department of Child Care and Youth Services started its educational activities in the 2020–2021 academic year. The Pharmacy Services Program, as well as the First and Emergency Aid Program and the Medical Documentation and Secretariat Program, began their activities in the 2021–2022 academic year.

Vocational School of Health Services, with its qualified academic staff and up-to-date curriculum, continues its activities in line with its mission of raising highly qualified graduates who have the knowledge and skills appropriate to the needs of the age in the field of health services, are compatible with teamwork and respect ethical values.
