Current Topics in Applied Biochemistry” Summer School Hosted by Our Vocational School of Health Services

The 7th Biochemistry Summer School, titled “Current Topics in Applied Biochemistry” and organized through the collaboration of Tarsus University and Aksaray University, was held at our Vocational School of Health Services between October 27–29, 2025. The event was organized by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ömür Acet, a faculty member of our Pharmacy Services Department, and brought together academics and students from 20 different universities.

In his opening speech, Rector Prof. Dr. Ali Özen expressed his pleasure in hosting the event and highlighted the university’s work in education, research, and innovation.

The program featured presentations by Prof. Dr. Halil Kavaklı (Koç University), Prof. Dr. Lokman Uzun (Hacettepe University), Prof. Dr. Suna Timur (Ege University), Prof. Dr. Ekrem Köksal (Erzincan Binali Yıldırım University), and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ömür Acet (Tarsus University). Participants received hands-on training on current topics in biochemistry such as nanotechnology, biomaterials, artificial intelligence–based biosensors, enzymes, and antioxidants.

Within the scope of the event, the “Chat Hour with Young Researchers” session enabled early-career scientists to meet experienced academics and exchange ideas on scientific studies and project development.

One of the Co-Chairs of the Summer School Organizing Committee, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ömür Acet, emphasized that the event strengthened knowledge sharing and academic collaboration, and thanked all contributors for their efforts.
